Introduction

Unesc’s Postgraduate Program in Health Sciences (HSPP) provides a substantial biomedical research facility, where researchers of acknowledged scientific competence coordinate and direct the work of laboratories where Master’s Degree students develop their research projects.

In addition to obtaining a solid theoretical foundation, our program places emphasis on the continuous advancing of knowledge and further research.

Recommended by High Education Improvement Coordination – Capes, in November, 2004, on Master’s Degree level and in August, 2006 on Doctorate level, the HSPP is linked to the Medicine Field – Medicine I subfield, meaning that its activities focus mainly on biomedicine.

Purposes

The purpose of Unesc‘s Postgraduate Program in Health Sciences is to offer a solid scientific and didactic-pedagogical knowledge-base to health professionals, enabling them to produce and disseminate scientific knowledge and to teach within the Health Sciences field.

The Program focuses on biomedical science, and the research projects developed by HSPP include many knowledge areas with the aim of educating diverse professionals within Health Sciences.

Postgraduate students will gain a solid foundation within the research areas offered by the Program through our group of professional teachers consisting of researchers with differing specialisations and interests in the wider Health Sciences Area.
