PhD and Master’s degrees in Environmental Sciences
UNESC’s Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences (PPES) was founded in 2001 and constitutes a dedicated facility for research and development. All projects offered in the program are interdisciplinary, and applicants are thus enabled to integrate research methods of the social and natural sciences.
The program offers both the degrees of Master and Doctor of Environmental Sciences. Those are both full-time programs with maximum completion times of 24 months for the Master's program, and 48 months for the Doctorate program.
Both Masters and PhD programs in Environmental Sciences have the following objectives:
• To train qualified professionals to detect, evaluate and identify solutions to the problems caused by inappropriate use of natural resources and the pollution of physical, chemical and biological systems;
• To train qualified professionals to work in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams;
• To develop frontier research that contributes to regional development;
• To consolidate research groups in the areas of ecology and environmental management.
Candidates must have secured a supervisor with whom they have agreed a topic for their thesis or dissertation and established the logistical details of their candidature.
The selection process is between October and December. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
