LAMAT I is aimed to build the academic background of students of Engineering and Technology, as well as providing research and extension of support in the areas of preparation and processing of ceramic materials, metallic and polymeric materials. This lab is divided into the following sectors:
LAMAT II focuses on the characterization of materials. Is subdivided into the following laboratories:
The laboratory supports the activities of teaching, research and service provision. It has a structure that enables R & D of building materials and their constituents, including the performance of building systems; evaluation of properties of concrete and mortar modified with polymers; materials made with recycled aggregates for specific applications; grouting ceramic coating systems and development of cement nanostructure.
The IPAT, Institute for Environmental Research and Technology, is the UNESC's center of research and services provision related to the environment. IPAT integrates the following laboratories used by Master's program in Materials Science and Engineering: Laboratory of Applied Ecotoxicology and Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Surface; Microbiology Laboratory, Atmospheric Laboratory, Laboratory of Industrial Water and Wastewater, Laboratory of Atomic Absorption; Chromatography Laboratory, Laboratory of Soils, Correctives and Fertilizers.
Senai Criciúma is a research center providing services to industry and training human resources, created in 1995 with the mission of contributing to the modernization and optimization of industrial processes and organization of ceramics companies. It occupies an area of 4,200 m², with a supporting laboratory infrastructure and trained human resources from institutions such as UFSC and Senai, the latter linked to Fiesc.
